We launch the summer series on May 9th with a Singing Oak favorite and force of nature on stage, Joe Crookston! Pure magic. He’s in his power AND communes with his audience.
From headlining major US festivals, receiving Folk Alliance International “Album of the Year,” releasing NINE BECOMES ONE (2024), to being named Folk Alliance International Artist-in-Residence, Joe is on fire.
He’s toured with and shared stages with Gordon Lightfoot, Judy Collins, Dar Williams, Mary Gauthier, Suzanne Vega, David Francey, John McCutcheon, John Gorka, and 100’s more.
Two of Joe's songs, Blue Tattoo, and Brooklyn in July have been made into feature films that are available on Amazon Prime. Watch this trailer for Brooklyn in July
He’ll surprise you. His rhythm is infectious. In concert, he is brilliantly funny one moment and transcendent the next.
Joe Crookston lives in Ithaca NY, and tours regularly in the US, Ireland and Canada.
He has 8 acclaimed studio albums of award-winning songs, many of which have been covered by other musicians.
Able Baker Charlie & Dog was awarded “Album of the Year” by Folk Alliance International (2009), indicating that it received more radio airplay than any other folk album released the year prior.
